As useful as X-rays are, they traditionally only give a two-dimensional view of your various oral structures. That means there’s a lot of information about the layout of your mouth that a single X-ray won’t show. That is where our iCat 3D Scanner comes in! It creates a comprehensive 3D image of your mouth that can be freely manipulated so that we can view it from every possible angle. This tells us everything we need to know to plan a successful frenectomy.
Lightscalpel
Using a laser to perform a frenectomy will reduce the bleeding and discomfort that you experience during the procedure. The mouth also tends to heal faster from laser treatment than it does from procedures that use traditional metal instruments. We use a Lightscalpel CO2 laser to perform frenectomies in a mere 10 to 30 seconds. In many cases, there is no need for sutures afterwards. If you have a loved one that is particularly nervous about receiving any kind of dental care, a laser frenectomy can be particularly useful.
